BASRA operates the only dedicated rescue boats around Grand Bahama. Rescue 1, (commissioned in 2003) a 39 foot Protector Rigid Inflatable and Rescue 2, a 25 foot Boston Whaler. Both vessels are kept in the water to provide constant readiness for rescue. We currently receive dockage at no charge from the Underwater Explorers Society and Ocean Reef Resort and Yacht Club. Without these donations, ocean readiness would not be possible.

Our long term goals are to acquire our own waterside facility to house both boats on lifts, implement training programs and improve on-going operations.
